1️⃣ Project Overview

Over the course of 13 weeks, I led the full UX design process—from user research and flow planning to UI execution and testing. The goal was to design a fitness experience that feels simple, structured, and emotionally engaging, especially for users who often lose momentum in solo training.

(Note: Due to NDA obligations, the original product name and branding have been anonymized. “VibeFit” is used as a placeholder throughout this case study. All UX work presented is original and based on a real end-to-end engagement.)

2️⃣The Challenge

Many people start home workouts with excitement—but quickly fall off due to lack of structure, feedback, or a sense of progress. Most fitness apps either feel too rigid (like a coach) or too open-ended (like a YouTube search).

3️⃣ Research & Discovery

🎯 Research Goals

Understand why users start but don’t stick with fitness apps

Identify motivational triggers for staying consistent

Evaluate pain points in current home workout apps

🔍 Methods

User Surveys: 40 responses from fitness communities

Interviews: 5 users (ages 20–35), beginner to intermediate

fitness levels

App Audit: Nike Training Club, FitOn, 7M Workout

4️⃣ User Persona

5️⃣ UX Goals

Build motivation:

Use small wins, daily feedback, progress indicators

Guide, don’t overwhelm:

Curated routines with onboarding filters

Track success clearly:

Visual analytics for weight, calories, time

Keep users consistent:

Smart nudges, habit scores, and streak tracking

🔄 Design Focus

Reduce the barrier to starting workouts

Personalize workout plans based on goals, fitness level, and time

Make progress feel visible and satisfying

Balance automation with user control

7️⃣ Wireframing & User Testing

Low-fidelity wireframes helped validate user flows early on.

The goal was to ensure clarity in onboarding steps

and reduce drop-off by simplifying key actions.

Initial sketches focused on minimizing decision fatigue by

presenting one task at a time, a key insight from user interviews."

Tested 3 versions of dashboard layout to find the balance

between motivation (progress feedback) and simplicity."
